The 3MP IP camera uses a traditional 4:3 ratio giving it an advantage in vertical field of view over 16:9 ratio cameras. Compared to a 2MP camera, this 3MP has over 500 more vertical lines. This makes this camera better suited for narrow areas such as hallways or alleys where a wide field of view simply means seeing the walls on each side of the camera and causes more interference with IR reflected light during low light conditions.
